Harold Gussa:
...after 51 years of marriage my sweetie still gives me a big red Valentine's card that she bought 35 years ago, she brings it out each valentines day and puts it on my pillow. (that is sweet and special) just think of the money she is saving. She is the love of my life and I thank God every day for her.....

Carol Laughery:
Two years ago, after 30 years of marriage,
6 children and 15 grandchildren, I found a single red rose placed under a windshield wiper on my car while I was shopping.  Just like he used to do while we were (old fashioned word) courting.  I would find a rose or a daisy or whatever he could find, in or on my car at various places around town.  Nothing could bring a bigger smile to my face then or now.  How lucky am I?

Don Erickson:
For all the wrong reasons!  My wife and I had our first Valentine's together as a married couple she baked me an apple pie from scratch.  She presented me with the "fruit' of her labor when I got home and wondered why I was not as excited as she was.  I told her that apple was not my favorite pie.  I learned to keep things like that to myself and she learned to bake a cherry pie.  Must have worked out; we've been married 37 years.

Vernelle Christenson:
My husband and I were attending a "formal" church valentine banquet and invited my sister and her husband who had been married about two years. The M.C. asked if anyone there had gotten married on Valentine's Day and my sister and husband raised their hand. He called them up front to interview them and when he finally got to the question of "Why did you choose Valentine's Day for your wedding day", my sister responded with "My parents did not approve of me getting married, and it happened to be the first Friday after my 18th birthday!" I was so very embarrassed! - but this Valentine's Day they celebrated 42 years of marriage AND my parents ended up really liking her husband!

Margaret Ferguson:
My most memorable Valentine's Day moment was one I shared with my husband.
We were living in another state at the time, waiting to adopt our son.
In early February, the phone rang and we were told we could pick him up in 2 days.  (Longest two days of our lives!)  When we finally got him, we were told that he'd been born in...the town of Valentine.  He was our Valentine that year for sure, and the best one either of us has ever received.

Lois Sims:
When I received a beautiful Valentine card from the most handsome man in town. He was 17 and I was 18 of a couple on a beach that said..
"Somewhere, Somehow, Someday"
A message that said.."I hope you feel the same way about me as I do about you."
That was many years ago but it was always a favorite memory.

Pam McAlister:
My mother was in labor with my youngest sister all of Valentines Day 1963. She tried to hide it all day as she knew my sister & I always made a "homemade something special"
for her & my father. She looked pale, but we never guessed what she was going through. By evening she was exhausted as we gathered after dinner to give her the card we had made. She opened it, oouwed & auhhed as always, but louder & longer & even louder& longer than ever! We thought we made the best Valentine Ever!! Two hours later we had a baby sister, making it the best Valentines Day ever.

Norma Abrams:
One year I received all homemade Valentines cards from all of our grandchildren.  These are all so precious to that I have cherished them for over five years.  Norma Abrams

Peggy Sandquist:
My most memorable Valentine's Day was this year.  The reason is that it marks the 56th Valentine's Day that I have been privileged to spend with my best friend, sweetheart and husband, all wrapped up in one.

Lynnette Keany:
A few years ago, well quite a few years ago I was dating a man in Monterey, California and I was working long evenings in a hospital and I received a call to come over after I got off work at 11:30 pm. It was Valentine weekend. When I arrived, to my dismay he had fixed a lovely dinner, had a fire in the fireplace and roses for me. I was so touched by his thoughtfulness. The next morning he packed a picnic lunch and we went to the beach to fish and walk and have our picnic. It was the most romantic weekend of my life. I will always cherish and remember that special time.
